Abstract
Together with twelve known compounds-brevifolincarboxylic acid(1), corilagin(2), tercatain(3), mallorepanin(4), furosin(5), geraniin(6), macarinin A(7), chebulagic acid(8), macarinin B(9), putranjivain A(10), phyllanthusiin C(11), bixanin(12), a new hydrolyzable tannin, 1-0-galloyl-2,4-(4-hydroxychebuloyl)-3,6-(R)-HHDP-β-D-glucopyranose(1 3) was isolated from the bark of Macaranga sinensis (Baill.) Muell.-Arg. (Euphorbiaceae). Structures of these tannins were established on the basis of their physical properties and spectroscopic evidence.
